In dotAGE, you guide the Elder and a band of villagers called Pips into an empty valley after foreseeing a doomed future. Their settlement is meant to endure the Prophecy’s disasters, turning an apocalyptic premise into a careful exercise in keeping a community alive. The game’s cozy presentation sits alongside a serious focus on planning and survival.
Its board-game-inspired worker placement makes each turn a set of practical choices: assign Pips to grow crops, tend animals, craft tools, improve buildings, train professionals, or handle the dead. Those jobs feed a broad economy of resources, while the Domains send escalating threats ranging from disease and poison to earthquakes. The Elder’s incomplete memories also make runs differ, revealing buildings and, as play continues, additional mechanics and content.
Multiple difficulty levels let players opt for a more relaxed settlement or increasingly demanding mastery. That combination of worker allocation, changing discoveries, and escalating events gives each campaign its own survival puzzle.
