DOOM casts the player as the lone Marine activated to confront a demonic outbreak at the Union Aerospace Corporation’s research facility on Mars. Its campaign centers on pushing through Hell’s forces with an emphasis on direct, aggressive combat rather than defensive pauses. The game’s fast movement and destructive weapons give its science-fiction setting a forceful, high-velocity character.
Combat combines an arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns with upgrades, agile movement, and an advanced melee system. Players can knock down, slash, stomp, crush, and blast demons, while the campaign explicitly removes taking cover and waiting to regenerate health. Outside the campaign, DOOM offers fast-paced, arena-style multiplayer, including classic and newer modes, vertical movement, power-ups, and the option to play as a demon. SnapMap adds another distinct format: its visual editor lets players assemble and customize maps, adjust gameplay and game logic, then play and share their creations.
The store listing also identifies co-op among the game’s categories, alongside single-player and multiplayer.
