Dicevaders puts players in command of an alien invasion, with Earth’s defenders, the legendary Pilots from StarVaders, standing in the way. Its dice-based roguelike deckbuilding takes place on a turn-based grid, where assembling a force also means choosing where to place it. Those placements matter to scoring, making the invasion a tactical puzzle as well as a contest against the planet’s resistance.
Dice are tools to manipulate rather than outcomes to accept. Chrono can reroll dice and restock the shop, while budge adjusts a throw toward a chosen combination; matching dice in pairs, triples, or quadruples sets off combos. Players acquire units, artifacts, budges, and chrono, then use commanders with distinct strategic approaches, synergies, perks, and artifacts to shape their runs. The design encourages experimentation with combinations, while Pilots have abilities intended to disrupt the invasion.
Its focus is on turn-based decisions: placing invaders, steering dice, and pursuing synergies that can drive up an attack score.
