Set in Detroit in 2038, Quantic Dream’s adventure asks players to see a society on the brink of chaos through three androids: Kara, Connor and Markus. Human-like machines serve people, but the story tests the boundary between obedience and independence, putting questions of humanity and the androids’ place in the city at its center.
The defining interaction is decision-making. Choices shape the three protagonists’ fates and the wider story, with moral dilemmas that can determine who lives or dies. The narrative continues even if a main character is killed, while different decisions can lead to different conclusions. That structure makes replaying a way to encounter alternate paths, rather than simply repeating a fixed sequence of events.
On PC, the game supports mouse and keyboard as well as gamepad controls, and its listed format is single-player. Its focus is how one player’s decisions alter the story experienced through the androids.
