Crypto returns to Earth with revenge on his mind after the KGB destroys his mothership. In this action-adventure, the alien invader must also make alliances with members of the species he came to enslave, setting up a distinctly unruly take on the 1960s. The premise mixes extraterrestrial payback with the era’s counterculture, rather than casting Crypto as a straightforward defender of humanity.
The combat pairs classic weapons with newer alien technology, including the Meteor Shower. Players can explore fictional cities across a larger, more open world, use a flying saucer to attack, and abduct humans from different countries. Those abductees become DNA cocktails that upgrade Crypto’s skills, tying the game’s destructive spectacle to character progression. Its blend of ground-level mayhem, saucer action and upgrades gives the invasion a broader playground than a simple sequence of shootouts.
The story can also be played in local two-player split-screen co-op, with a friend joining the full story. The combination of a revenge-driven campaign, open-world exploration and local co-op defines its particular flavor of alien comedy and action.
