DEPLOYMENT imagines civilization teetering after a final war, with computers still operating essential systems such as energy, transport, and factories. Governments and megacorporations send infosoldiers, described as units of pure data, into the Etherweb to seize control of that infrastructure. This digital conflict gives the shooter’s abstract sci-fi setting a clear strategic stake: control of the systems means power over the world.
Combat takes place from a top-down perspective on randomly generated arenas, with players choosing among five classes: Gunner, Pyro, Sniper, Cyclops, and Rocketeer. Each has its own skills and playstyle, while capturing and defending system turrets provides a tactical objective alongside defeating opponents. The game supports team battles and free-for-all, and its listed single-player mode lets players train against AI bots. Class experience, upgrades, and new abilities add progression around those encounters.
Randomized arenas and distinct classes are central to its design, shaping battles around changing maps, class choices, and control of the turrets.
