Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor recasts the series’ hazardous mining world as a single-player survivor-like auto-shooter. One dwarf faces the alien swarms of Planet Hoxxes, exploring its caves from a top-down perspective rather than the familiar view of the original game.
Combat and resource gathering happen together. Weapons automatically fire, freeing the player to run, evade threats and mine while bugs approach in waves. Each mission uses procedural cave generation and enemy waves, with objectives that help the dwarf grow stronger. Collecting riches and upgrading gear are central to pushing farther into the caves, where encounters become more dangerous and lucrative.
A run is framed by a Drop Pod deployment and a return deadline: complete the Company’s objectives, get back to the pod, and try to survive through the assignment’s end for extraction and loot. This gives the game a focused loop of movement, mining, combat and mission progress, all within its single-player design. Its mix of automatic shooting and active navigation distinguishes it from a conventional aim-focused shooter while retaining the setting and arsenal of Deep Rock Galactic.
