Deadlight is a cinematic survival platformer set after a 1980s catastrophe has decimated life on earth. Players follow Randall Wayne across Seattle as he searches for his family and for answers in a devastated world. Its focus on one survivor’s journey gives the setting a personal stake: survival is bound up with finding loved ones, not simply escaping danger.
Movement and judgment define the challenge. Players run, jump and climb through lethal environments, where a misstep can mean death; the surroundings can become either obstacle or ally. Ammunition is scarce compared with the walking corpses, so the game urges players to think carefully and avoid direct confrontations when possible rather than rely on mindless shooting. This gives its action a cautious, route-conscious character.
The visual design combines detailed 3D models and environments with old-school 2D sidescrolling, creating a vintage 2.5D presentation. Deadlight also lists a Nightmare difficulty mode, alongside extras such as making-of videos and unreleased concept art.
