Dead In Vinland casts the player as Eirik and his family, exiled to an unfamiliar island where survival means more than finding food. This turn-based blend of survival management, role-playing, and adventure asks you to explore the land, build a camp, and keep the family’s physical and mental health in balance. Its mysterious setting and story frame each decision as part of a larger struggle to endure and discover what happened on Vinland.
The camp is both refuge and practical project: gather resources, ration water, treat illness and wounds, and decide which activity stations and upgrades are worth crafting. The family is also a community of playable characters with individual strengths, flaws, and stories. Dialog choices shape relationships, while encounters with the tyrant Björn Headcleaver put tribute or rebellion on the table. When negotiation gives way to violence, combat is turn-based and tactical, with small team battles against his followers.
The game offers different difficulty approaches, including an easy mode for players more interested in the story, alongside extreme difficulty and an iron man mode. That range sits alongside its non-linear quests, exploration, and settlement activities, giving the experience a deliberate, decision-led rhythm rather than a shared competitive session.
