Day of Infamy casts players into World War II battles across Europe, built around coordinated objectives and lethal gunfights. Its nine specialized classes support a team-based approach: squads can secure positions, demolish enemy equipment, eliminate officers and push the frontline forward. The setting spans fortified beachheads, battered villages, ruined cities and snowy forests, giving its battles varied historical backdrops.
Combat pairs a broad arsenal with communication and support systems. More than 60 weapons range from Thompson submachine guns to PIAT launchers and flamethrowers, with weapon customization options such as bayonets, grenade launchers and extended magazines. Nearby allies and enemies can hear proximity voice chat, while radio backpacks enable wider team communication. Players can also call in artillery, aircraft attacks and supply drops, making coordination part of the game’s battlefield design.
The format includes seven player-versus-player modes alongside three cooperative modes against AI. Its factions draw on US Army, British Commonwealth and German Wehrmacht units, grounding its class-and-objective combat in a range of WWII forces.
