Darksburg casts players as Survivors trying to escape a town overrun by the Infected. Its cooperative roguelite setup makes survival a shared task: each Survivor brings distinct skills and personality, while the group faces undead hordes and revenants across the city. The premise is less about clearing a fixed arena than making it through a beleaguered town together.
Runs change the landscape as well as the rewards. The city and its loot are procedurally generated, so each attempt offers different locales, objectives, enemies and items. As characters level up, players choose from three random perks and combine them with skills found during a run to shape a build. That pairing of shifting environments and evolving abilities gives the game’s action its replayable structure, while keeping cooperation central to the challenge.
The number of people playing is therefore only one part of the picture; the game’s appeal rests on how Survivors coordinate their abilities and adapt to changing runs.
