Dakar Desert Rally brings the rally raid format to a vast open world, drawing on the official 2020, 2021 and 2022 Dakar Rally races. Its licensed field spans motorcycles, cars, trucks, quads and SSVs, with teams and pilots represented alongside more than 30 rally stages. Rather than confining every contest to marked roads, the game lets players navigate across open terrain, framing the event as a test of route-finding as well as speed.
Changing conditions shape that challenge: the game features four seasons, a full day-night cycle and weather that includes sandstorms, rain, snow and deep mud. Those hazards sit at the heart of its driving identity, alongside support for a wide range of steering wheels. The design aims to serve both off-road simulation fans and more casual racing players, while keeping the recognizable Dakar competition as its setting.
Play is split between a single-player Rally Raid career and online multiplayer events, including races with friends. Its central appeal is the combination of licensed rally racing, open-world navigation and demanding environmental conditions.
