Cuisineer casts Pom as an adventurer drawn back to Paell by a letter from her parents, only to find their restaurant abandoned and debts waiting. Keeping the family dream alive means gathering ingredients in dungeons, then turning those finds into meals for the village. Its central hook is the direct link between action-adventure exploration and restaurant work: supplies are won through combat, not simply collected from a menu of ingredients.
The dungeons feature procedurally generated biomes whose size, shape, and resources change on each visit. Pom battles creatures with cooking utensils and specialized gear, while elemental flavor powers can produce effects such as flame, poison, and chain lightning. Back in Paell, players cook more than a hundred recipes, match dishes to customers, and work with local artisans to customize the kitchen and dining hall. Quests for townsfolk add another reason to seek out particular items during excursions.
Cuisineer is listed as a single-player game, so its play format centers on Pom’s solo loop of dungeon delving, ingredient gathering, cooking, and restaurant management.
