Cubic Castles combines three-dimensional platforming with open-ended voxel construction. Players claim a plot, place a castle, and shape a world from cubes and other items, choosing whether to make a role-playing setting, a platforming challenge, or a more artistic space. Its central appeal is that the creations and obstacles can reflect very different ideas, from a hazardous parkour course to a quiet home beside a lake.
Movement uses a fixed camera that players control, while mining and crafting provide tools for making and furnishing worlds. Resources come from distinct biomes, including forests, deserts, arctic regions, mountains, and tropical islands; raw materials and tools can be dragged into a workbench to see possible crafts. Builders can add hazards and contraptions such as mechanical spikes, quicksand, lava, and warp doors. Character customization, including hats, shirts, plants, and glasses, adds another personal touch.
The game is described as massively multiplayer in one persistent shared world, so its creative format sits alongside other players’ activity rather than being limited to isolated construction.
