Crysis 3 sends players back into a conflict over Earth’s future. The search for the Alpha Ceph continues amid a new threat to a peace established 24 years earlier, while the C.E.L.L. corporation’s role becomes part of the story. Its New York setting is transformed into a vast urban rainforest beneath a giant nanodome, with seven distinct landscapes shaping the route through the campaign.
The Nanosuit makes approach a central choice rather than a fixed routine. Players can use its technology to move quietly and set up stealth attacks, or take on opponents with guns blazing. The Predator Bow adds a different kind of tactical flexibility: its Super-thermite arrow can counter heavy artillery, while an Electro arrow can strike a group of enemies in water. The game encourages players to assess a situation, adapt their equipment and choose how to attack.
Steam lists Crysis 3 with single-player and multiplayer categories, including PvP and online PvP. The store description also notes that GameSpy-hosted services ended in 2014 and that this affected the online multiplayer aspect; it says the publisher had no solution to keep those services running at the time.
