In Crossout, a post-apocalyptic wasteland sets the stage for battles between player-built armoured vehicles. Its premise centres on survivors who turn machines originally made for survival into increasingly armed creations, while factions with different knowledge and outlooks contend with one another and the memory-erasing Ravagers.
Vehicle construction is the game’s defining hook: parts, armour, weapons and support systems can be assembled into designs ranging from tracked rovers to aircraft and antigravitational platforms. Those machines enter multiplayer battles on land and in the sky. Combat has a part-by-part damage model, so destroying a component immediately affects an opponent’s vehicle performance. Players can also make parts in a workshop and trade gathered items through the in-game marketplace.
The format combines creative vehicle building with online competition: players may fight alone or join a clan, with battles and tournaments also listed among the activities.
