Cronos: The New Dawn is a single-player, third-person survival horror game built around a journey between a ruined future and 1980s-era Poland. Players take the role of a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, searching the wastelands for time rifts and people who died in the catastrophe known as the Change. Its setting pairs Eastern European brutalist architecture with retro-futurist technology, giving the time-spanning story a distinctive visual frame.
Combat makes preparation as important as aiming. Ammunition and supplies are limited, so scavenging and planning matter; temporal Anomalies can also be manipulated to clear a path. The central threat is Merging: fallen creatures can be absorbed by others, making them faster and tougher unless their bodies are burned quickly. A Harvester lets the Traveler extract the Essences of people found in the past. Carrying more can improve battlefield prowess, but also haunts the suit with unsettling whispers and flashes of vision.
Its defining pressure comes from adapting to evolving abominations and weighing the effects of the Essences the Traveler brings back, while moving between two eras shaped by catastrophe.
