Contraband Police: Prologue is a demo built around a five-day training assignment at a remote border post in the mountainous region of Karikatka. Set in 1981, it casts you as a young officer trainee working under Commissioner Andreyev, where entry into the Acarist People’s Republic is tightly controlled. The premise takes a personal turn when a fellow officer is killed during an intervention, against a backdrop of mounting danger at the border.
Inspection work combines document checks with hands-on searches. Visitors need valid paperwork, and discrepancies can mean refused entry; suspicious vehicles can be examined with a UV flashlight before tools are used to remove hidden contraband. The border post also faces shootouts and attempted escapes, while away missions may bring clashes with hostile forces. These duties make the role broader than checking papers alone, bringing enforcement and emergency response into the same assignment.
The design also ties station upkeep to the work: successful inspections and interventions can earn cash, while upgrades improve defenses and inspections but increase maintenance costs. Police cars can be bought and upgraded to strengthen pursuits. Special assignments add crime puzzles, support for fellow officers, and efforts to thwart the Blood Fist rebels, with decisions affecting Acaristan’s future. This demo presents the game’s border-policing premise and a mix of inspection, pursuit, combat, and management systems; its contents may differ from the full game.
