Commandos: Origins traces the formation of the elite unit, beginning with Green Beret Jack O’Hara and the five specialists who join him. Its World War II missions range across settings from the Arctic to Africa, placing the squad against a growing Nazi occupation. The premise is about coordinated operations rather than a lone hero’s advance: raids, sabotage and rescues call for the team to work together.
Each commando brings a distinct skillset, and success depends on planning how to combine stealth and destruction. The environments are described as detailed, varied and interactive, with multiple approaches to objectives: players can sneak, climb, use vehicles or hide and creep through a mission. The design also supports coordinating complex actions at the same time, making timing and team composition central to tackling fortified targets.
The game offers single-player missions as well as two-player cooperative play online or through local split-screen.
