Command & Conquer Remastered Collection brings together Command & Conquer and Red Alert, two games described as defining the real-time strategy genre. Both are remastered in 4K by Petroglyph Games, whose team includes former Westwood Studios members. The collection pairs that visual refresh with a modernized interface while preserving the original games’ campaign and battlefield focus.
Its design spans more than a hundred campaign missions, multiplayer maps, and skirmishes against AI opponents, with controllable difficulty settings available in Tiberian Dawn’s Skirmish mode. In solo play, players can switch between legacy and remastered graphics in real time. Updated mouse controls, camera movement, unit queueing, selection improvements, customizable hotkeys, and a redesigned sidebar provide practical changes to controlling forces and following the action.
The play format ranges from solo missions and AI skirmishes to competitive online play: custom lobbies let players set rules, teams, and maps, while 1v1 Quickmatches offer a separate ranked-style route through a leaderboard. Replays and Observer mode support watching matches, and the Map Editor adds a way to work with battlefield layouts.
