Combolands: Roguelike Citybuilder turns the growth of a small settlement into a compact strategy run. Each attempt begins on a procedurally generated island, where you develop a hamlet into a city by placing buildings. Its roguelike structure is paired with deckbuilder mechanics, making each run a fresh combination of planning and adaptation rather than a single ongoing city.
Guild choice gives those runs a distinct strategic frame: you select two from a pantheon of seven, with each guild bringing its own buildings and playstyle. The game emphasizes synergies and cascading combos, while upgrades let you change how buildings behave and potions let you manipulate the map. Heirlooms, councillors with their own abilities and progressions, and more than a hundred buildings add further ways to shape a build. The design aims for a satisfying “number-go-up” rhythm in roughly half-hour bursts, with increasingly challenging ranks to work through.
Its appeal lies in experimenting with guild pairings, discovering combinations, and refining a run’s build as the map develops.
