A dinner-party murder sets the scene in Clue/Cluedo: Classic Edition: the host is found dead, the mansion is locked down, and players must determine who committed the crime, with which weapon, and in which room. Six suspects, six weapons, and nine rooms make up the mystery, with players taking the roles of familiar characters such as Miss Scarlett or Professor Plum. The game’s focus is not simply on finding clues in a story, but on reasoning from what other players know.
Each round removes one suspect, weapon, and room card from the deck before dealing the rest to players. Moving between rooms by rolling dice, players make suggestions and learn from cards shown in response; the virtual Cluesheet tracks revealed cards, while optional marks let players keep their own notes. Questions asked by other investigators and the replies they receive can also inform deductions. To accuse, a player must reach the relevant room, and a wrong accusation eliminates them, making the final move a calculated risk.
The format supports single-player games against customizable AI suspects as well as online multiplayer for up to six players, with private games also available. Its signature tension comes from combining shared questions, hidden information, room-to-room movement, and the need to be certain before making an accusation.
