Cloudbuilt casts players as Demi, a wounded war veteran who awakens in a strange world above the clouds. Its platforming turns that setting into a demanding obstacle course: scale huge walls, run along them, rocket-boost at speed, and leap across vast gaps while dodging or destroying hostile robots. The story frames these challenges as part of Demi’s effort to rediscover herself and face an uncertain future.
Rather than holding abilities back for a gradual unlock, the game makes the suit’s full abilities available almost from the start, putting the emphasis on player skill. Routes can be approached in different ways, with clever shortcuts offering alternatives to the obvious path. Beyond its core platforming, Cloudbuilt features multiple game modes with ranks and global leaderboards, plus extra challenges that unlock character skins and costumes. Steam Workshop support also lets players download community-made levels or create and share their own.
That format helps explain what players may be returning to, without reducing the experience to a live multiplayer match.
