Cliff Empire imagines a world reshaped by nuclear war: radioactive fog makes the surface unlivable, so survivors look to cliffs built in a mountain region as the basis for restoring life. You take charge of that recovery, with the game’s central challenge framed around building viable settlements in a hostile, changing environment.
The design centers on three small cities developed in parallel on randomly generated levels. Their economies are independent, but trading between settlements and an orbital station links their development. Dynamic climate changes test those economies, while choices between ecological and harmful power supplies add another strategic consideration. Research, a broad range of structures, and goods for trade and consumption provide further tools for shaping each city.
Beyond its core city-building, Cliff Empire lists a sandbox mode and tower defense, alongside quests that open access to the orbital station and a larger late-game location. Camera options include 3D, orthographic, and free movement around the city, giving the management format a more direct way to inspect its settlements.
