Set in the months before the Allied invasion of France in June 1944, Classified: France ’44 puts you in command of Allied commandos and French resistance fighters. Its turn-based campaign combines a broad sabotage effort with a resistance network shaped by dealings with competing factions. The more chaos your operations create, the more attention they attract from the Gestapo, tying the strategic push against German targets to an escalating threat.
Tactical missions hinge on preparation and consequences. Stealth can let your squad choose when to begin a fight, but too many kills raise enemy suspicion. Once combat starts, the morale system makes every shot matter: suppression can leave opponents vulnerable to a flank. You can recruit, train, customise and equip operatives, while spending time at campfires to learn about their lives. Mission selection also feeds into the larger campaign, as strategic operations help manage the team and support resistance goals.
The format is single-player, with multiple campaign playthroughs described as different each time, multiple endings, and a Mission Creator for creating, sharing and downloading custom missions.
