Clanfolk is a single-player settlement simulation set in the harsh Scottish Highlands, where a family builds a life from an empty plot. Its story stretches across generations: relatives marry, raise children, grow old, and pass on the work of keeping the homestead alive. The focus is less on a lone founder’s success than on shaping a family’s legacy through everyday choices and long-term survival.
Daily life combines household management with practical survival. Players schedule clan members around rest, meals, and happiness while assigning work such as farming, fishing, hunting, crafting, and cooking. Individual traits and skills influence what each person does well, and children learn essential jobs alongside older relatives. Seasons make preparation central: crops depend on soil and other conditions, while cold, rain, and food spoilage put pressure on shelter, clothing, and supplies. Production also develops from what the clan gathers and works, opening methods and materials as it builds more capable homes and workshops.
The homestead can remain a self-sufficient farm or grow into a trade hub or inn, with visitors, prospective workers, and traders offering ways to expand its fortunes.
