Cities XL Platinum is a city-building simulation that casts you as a virtual mayor, responsible for designing settlements and responding to the needs of their citizens. Its canvas spans varied terrain, with more than 60 large maps and a catalogue of over 1,000 buildings and constructions to place. That breadth makes each city a design project as well as a place to govern.
The challenge is to balance housing, employment, recreation and public services while confronting planning problems such as energy shortages and public transportation. Cities can also take on specializations and trade with neighboring towns, creating a connected economy whose financial success depends on managing a larger network rather than treating every settlement in isolation.
