Cities in Motion puts you in charge of transportation in Vienna, Helsinki, Berlin, and Amsterdam. The challenge is to keep pace with residents’ changing travel needs across the years from 1920 to 2020, while balancing commuter satisfaction with the goal of maximizing profits. Its setting is not a single city frozen in time: the game presents a century of transport history across four eras.
To meet demand, you manage buses, trams, and subway trains, choosing from more than 30 vehicles based on real-life models. The selection also includes water buses and helicopters, and an underground view gives subway operations a distinct perspective. A real-time city and traffic simulation models residents traveling between home, work, and leisure destinations, connecting the transportation network to the movement of each city’s population.
The campaign offers 12 scenarios, while sandbox mode makes all four campaign cities playable outside that structure. An advanced map editor adds the option to create cities of your own.
