Chopper: Lethal Darkness puts players in an attack helicopter, hunting hostile forces through night-vision equipment and a realistic FLIR simulation. Its combat premise is built around locating enemies in the sight and destroying them, but the route to each target is planned before the mission begins. That preparation gives the game a tactical frame distinct from a straightforward, continuously steered aerial shooter.
Players compose a flight plan from predefined waypoints where hostile forces are positioned. The helicopter then follows the route automatically, circling each waypoint until the player finishes there and moves on. Engagements call for choosing among air-to-ground missiles, a 30-mm machine gun and infrared-guided missiles. Camps and armories, tankers, trucks, armed off-road vehicles and infantry provide varied targets; rising rank unlocks additional weapons, while progress also opens more challenging areas.
The store lists Chopper: Lethal Darkness as single-player, so its waypoint-based missions are presented as a solo experience rather than a shared online operation.
