Catan Universe brings the familiar contest for an uncharted island to a screen: explorers compete to establish settlements, with roads, cities and trade shaping the race to become Lord or Lady of Catan. Its appeal rests on translating a tabletop classic into online play, while also gathering the Catan card game and the Rise of the Inkas edition in one app.
The board game’s multiplayer mode supports the basic game with up to three players, while unlocking the full basic game and the Cities & Knights and Seafarers expansions raises matches to as many as six. The game also offers scenario packs, and Rise of the Inkas adds a distinctive premise: settlements decline as jungle overtakes them, giving opponents chances to claim desired locations.
