In this reimagining of Castlevania, the world faces a supernatural catastrophe, and Gabriel Belmont sets out to confront the forces behind it. A holy knight of the Brotherhood of Light, he is driven by the murder of his wife and guided by her spirit toward a fate tied to the survival of the world. The Ultimate Edition includes the full game along with the Reverie and Resurrection bonus content, which continue the story beyond its central adventure.
Combat and traversal give the journey its action-adventure character. Gabriel wields the Combat Cross, using it to fight, swing across chasms, climb walls and rappel down cliffs. Secondary weapons such as daggers and holy water combine with light and dark magic, while spell use requires managing power at a price. Exploration ranges across gothic ruins, castles, forests and frozen landscapes, with branching routes, hidden places and puzzles that unlock items. Large-scale Titan Battles add confrontations with enormous foes, demanding speed and well-timed special attacks.
Steam features include achievements, cloud saving and full gamepad control; the edition also lists enhanced high-definition graphics and support for 60 frames per second on recommended specifications. Its blend of combat, platforming, puzzles and gothic storytelling is the defining shape of Gabriel’s quest.
