Call of Duty: Ghosts frames its campaign around a nation trying to survive after a devastating event reshapes America’s borders and global power. Set ten years later, the story follows the remaining Special Operations forces known as the Ghosts as they confront a technologically superior power. That underdog premise gives the action a more personal focus than a straightforward fight for liberation.
Its multiplayer identity combines soldier customization with maps that can change during a match. Create-A-Soldier lets players tailor appearance and choose a soldier’s gender, while interactive map events can shift the landscape and prompt new tactics. Contextual leaning, mantling and knee slides add movement options; the game also features more than twenty Kill Streaks and a Marksman Rifle weapon class. These systems make adaptation and loadout choices central to its combat design.
Squads offers a distinct alternative to standard multiplayer: players can take custom soldiers into battle solo or cooperatively, with loadouts influencing squad-mate AI behavior. Together, the modes pair a post-crisis military story with competitive combat and AI-supported team play.
