BRINK casts its conflict on the Ark, a self-sufficient floating city built as a refuge that now faces mounting tension between its original residents and thousands of refugees. Security and Resistance forces are fighting for control, and players choose which side to support. That divided setting gives the shooter’s battles a clear political frame rather than treating its factions as interchangeable teams.
The game is designed to carry one character between a single-player campaign, cooperative play and competitive multiplayer. Players can campaign as either faction, then take that character online; customization expands as experience is earned. Its SMART button is a distinctive movement aid: it assesses a player’s intended destination and helps navigate there, while objectives and rewards respond to role, location, squad and battle conditions. These systems tie movement and mission direction to the changing combat situation.
Those formats sit alongside the campaign and character continuity, so the game’s design encompasses both faction-based online matches and solo play, not a single multiplayer setup.
