Brighter Shores casts players as a new recruit in Hopeport’s town guard, where a storm over the harbor and trouble with local goblins complicate the job. The larger adventure reaches into Hopeforest, whose depths are being corrupted, and follows a story of discovering powerful magic and becoming one of three legendary classes: Cryoknight, Guardian or Hammermage.
Its character-building pairs combat and exploration with a broad set of professions. Players can take up activities such as fishing, foraging, cooking, woodcutting, mining, alchemy, stonemasonry, trading and blacksmithing, while facing fantastical foes. The game is designed as an ongoing, episodic adventure: each episode brings its own lands, side quests and professions while advancing the central story. The store description also presents it as a free-to-play game with a Premium Pass for access to released episodes and other benefits.
Brighter Shores lists single-player and multiplayer, including MMO, co-op and online co-op categories.
