Runersia is divided among six powers whose rulers pursue competing visions of the continent’s future. Choose a nation and lead its ruler, rune knights, and monsters toward unification, while rival forces also seek territory and may attack your bases. The conflict is framed as a set of intertwined national stories: each campaign can unfold differently, and records collect events from all six nations.
The game’s seasonal structure links army planning to tactical combat. In the Organization Phase, players arrange knights and monsters into troops, drawing on their classes and skills; in the Attack Phase, those forces clash in turn-based battles across hexagonal maps. Unit abilities, elemental interactions, terrain advantages, and enclosure effects give battles several tactical considerations. Armies can also develop through classes, equipment, and items, making force composition an important part of the broader campaign.
Beyond the main mode, Challenge Mode asks players to assemble a ruler and nine knights for conquest, while Creative Mode lets them build armies from knights and monsters used on past campaigns. Together, these modes frame Runersia as a strategy game built around both a long national conflict and distinct ways to stage battles.
