Breachway puts you in command of a lone warship and its crew, charting a course through a galaxy shaped by faction ties and narrative encounters. Its run-based structure pairs the search for the mysterious Signal with choices about which dangers to face, whom to help, and how to handle morally complicated situations. Relationships can affect the arsenals available to you and the way the story unfolds, making the crew’s journey about more than winning battles.
Combat is turn-based and built around cards generated by your ship’s equipment. Choose a chassis, then combine weapons, defenses, and internal modules; crew members operate that gear and contribute their own skills. In a fight, you weigh resource use and enemy cooldowns while deciding whether to target specific systems or defend against incoming threats. Hacking equipment, overheating ships, and disrupting point defenses are among the tactical options described, while upgrades after victories can reshape the deck and open up new synergies.
Between encounters, you recruit crew, manage morale and faction relationships, and pursue upgrades as varied events send each run in different directions. That combination of ship customization, tactical card battles, and persistent learning between attempts defines Breachway’s particular take on a spacefaring strategy RPG.
