Braveland begins with a personal loss: a warrior’s son sets out after his village is raided, with the story tracing his rise into command of an army. Its hand-drawn world takes him through distinct places and characters, giving the strategy battles a clear adventure framework rather than presenting them as isolated encounters.
Combat unfolds in turn-based battles on a hexagonal battlefield. Players command an army assembled from varied warriors and creatures, including archers, scouts, healers, footmen, arbalesters and golems. The design also builds in hero development, artifacts and battle magic, while boss fights close each story chapter. Three chapters set the journey in different corners of the world, and the illustrated cartoon art gives the tactical action a distinctive visual style.
Its appeal is the combination of army command, character progression and a hand-drawn fantasy adventure, with the turn-based format letting players consider their battlefield decisions.
