Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced combines first-person shooting with role-playing progression on Pandora, a lawless planet where mercenaries pursue the alien technology known as the Vault. Choose from four mercenaries, each with unique RPG skills, and build a loadout from an expansive arsenal that ranges from rocket-launching shotguns to lightning-firing SMGs. The enhanced edition also features visual upgrades, additional weapons and all four add-on packs.
Combat mixes firefights on foot with vehicle-to-vehicle clashes, while co-op lets a crew of up to four take on enemies together. Its distinctive look pairs traditional rendering techniques with hand-drawn textures, giving the sci-fi setting a graphic, illustrated quality. Improved character models, environments, weapons and textures are among the edition’s visual enhancements.
The included add-ons broaden the adventure with different settings and objectives. The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned sends players to Jakobs Cove to investigate reports of the undead; Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot centers on arena combat against waves of foes. The Secret Armory of General Knoxx adds missions, guns and vehicles, while Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution pits players against a robot uprising. Together, the base game and expansions frame Pandora as a setting for looting, gunfights and varied side adventures.
