BOKURA begins with two boys who run away from home and encounter a dead deer. After they faint, each wakes to a different version of reality: one sees a world of animals, the other a world of machines. That split perspective is more than a story premise; it shapes what each player can understand about the journey.
This side-scrolling co-op puzzle adventure requires exactly two people, each playing on a separate machine. The same character and some interactable objects can appear differently on the two screens, so partners must communicate to compare what they see, solve puzzles, and make choices that can send the story in different directions. The game does not include a separate communication method, so players need another way to talk, such as voice chat when playing apart.
BOKURA has no solo mode and cannot pair a player with a computer-controlled partner. Its design instead makes cooperation between two people essential, with online play available for partners in different locations.
