Bloomtown: A Different Story follows Emily and her younger brother Chester during a summer visit to their grandfather’s apparently peaceful 1960s American town. Children begin disappearing, and the mystery leads beneath Bloomtown’s welcoming surface to an Underside where fears and vices take monstrous form. Its contrast between familiar small-town places and supernatural danger gives the story its central tension.
Combat is turn-based and tactical, with Emily joined by friends who bring their own abilities and strengths to battles against demons and dungeon bosses. Players can weaken and capture creatures, then build a squad through leveling, distinct skills and demon fusion. Summoning both inner demons and captured ones also supports setting up combinations, making creature collection part of the battle strategy rather than a separate pursuit.
Bloomtown also frames the adventure as a social RPG: players can explore hidden areas, work at the grocery store for pocket money, visit the gym, make friends or spend time gardening. The Steam listing identifies the game as single-player, so its player-count context is a solo narrative RPG built around exploration, relationships and tactical encounters, not a shared multiplayer session.
