Blood West casts you as an Undead Gunslinger trapped in a supernatural frontier, where freeing your soul means finding a way to purge the curse. Its Wild West setting is warped by eldritch horror: monsters, demons and restless spirits haunt three open-ended regions, the Canyons, Swamp and Mountains. Exploration is self-directed, and the game leaves players to work out how to approach quests rather than guiding them at every step.
Stealth is central to the design. Players can scout, stalk enemies and attack from the shadows, including trying to clear a monster-filled fort without triggering an alarm. Going in with guns blazing is also an option. Firearms range from revolvers and rifles to magically infused or possessed weapons, while melee arms and bows offer quieter alternatives. Perk-based progression, a skill tree and artifacts let players shape builds toward stealth, gunplay or brute force, alongside scavenged supplies and hidden stashes.
This is a single-player game, so its play format is a solo campaign rather than a shared multiplayer session. The campaign combines exploration, missions from fully voiced NPCs and combat choices across its three scenarios, with RPG-like customization supporting different approaches to the dangerous frontier.
