Blade & Soul Heroes follows Yusol as she works to rebuild her clan and pursue justice against those who destroyed it. Her search for Yi Chun also draws her into the mysteries of the Heaven’s Fall Cult. The story brings a broad cast of heroes into the clan, giving their individual skills and backstories a place alongside Yusol’s quest.
Combat’s defining feature is its dual format: players can switch between turn-based strategy and real-time action. In turn-based battles, all five members of the team take the field together. In real-time fights, a chosen lead hero takes on enemies while four allies provide linked skills. That difference changes whether a fight centers on coordinating the whole party’s turns or directing one active fighter with support.
Team building connects those modes to tactical preparation. Players develop a five-hero team from a roster of more than 40 unlockable characters, each with distinct skills and stories, then tailor their choices to opponents and environments. Anime-inspired settings span forests, deserts, vistas and dungeons, while heroes have looks associated with the elements.
