Set near the end of the last century in the withered town of Lingyi, Black Sheep follows a school-year mystery shaped by a passionate girl, her friend Li Xiangfan, and urban legends around a junior high. The adventure blends psychological horror with a story about uncovering what happened and deciding how to respond to the girl’s fate. Rather than placing the player at the center of every event, it casts them as a bystander watching the year unfold.
Investigation is built around collecting information and opinions, reconsidering events from different perspectives, and assuming different identities to search for the truth. Malice-born monsters add a threat to that process, while discovering who they really are ties the danger to the game’s mystery. Its five chapters each correspond to events from the past year, giving the narrative a structured, retrospective shape instead of presenting its story as an open-ended multiplayer activity.
Black Sheep is listed as a single-player adventure, so its play format is individual, story-focused investigation rather than a shared session.
