Birdwatching Notebook turns a corner of the desktop into a small birding retreat. Its postcard-like viewing area can be moved and zoomed while you work, and you can decorate each spot to suit your taste. The appeal is less about chasing a high score than shaping a welcoming habitat and seeing which visitors arrive.
The game offers varied settings, from docks and beaches to deserts and rainforests, each with its own scenery and birds to discover. Visitors have preferred times, while adjustable time and weather let you explore different conditions. As birds return, they become more comfortable and may show new behaviors; photographing those behaviors contributes to a handbook, and documenting a bird’s full set earns its statue. You can also save and switch between designs with blueprints, collect feathers and other trinkets, and use the camera to preserve favorite moments.
In co-op sessions, players become little birds, land in a friend’s space, and leave emotes, photos, or gifts. They can also request and collect other players’ blueprints, bringing layout ideas back to their own birding area.
