Be My Horde recasts the survivor roguelite as a necromancer’s conquest. You play Moriana, who turns slain enemies into loyal undead rather than relying on her own attacks: peasants, warriors, demons, flying bugs, and even sheep can swell her forces. That reversal makes the battlefield a source of recruits, with the aim of overwhelming it through the growing horde.
Souls feed a progression loop that spans individual crusades and the Dominion, Moriana’s base. During runs, perks strengthen her abilities; between them, souls can unlock skills and other forms of necromancy, while evil structures provide permanent enhancements. The game also sends Moriana through distinct realms with their own enemies, mechanics, and bosses. Absorb a boss’s servants to weaken it before facing it directly. Its hand-drawn 2D presentation pairs gore with charm, while environmental hazards such as meteors and volcanic eruptions add ways to disrupt enemies.
The structure supports either brief sessions or longer stretches, according to the game’s description, while its single-player format centers the experience on one player’s evolving campaign. Between crusades, fully voiced scenes develop Moriana’s twisted story, and she sometimes breaks the fourth wall.
