Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy DX returns to Ryza three years after the first game, bringing her and her friends together again for new encounters and an important decision. Its story centers on a reunion and the passage into a more mature chapter of their lives, giving the adventure a personal thread alongside its fantasy setting.
Exploration gains a companion in Fi, who follows Ryza through the field, extends the sensor map’s range, and restores HP after combat. The DX edition also adds a story in which Empel and Lila search for a gate to the Underworld before reuniting with Ryza; players control Lila across familiar areas and a new map. Those additions broaden the game’s perspective without changing its central emphasis on characters, discovery, and adventure.
Combat has a configurable option in Custom Combat mode: players choose opponents and levels, then adjust monster behavior and battle speed, among other settings. The edition also includes additional content from the original release, such as extra maps and recipes, alongside revised usability features and expanded basket and container capacity. Together, its character-focused narrative, field exploration, and adjustable encounters give the game a distinct mix of RPG adventure and hands-on customization.
