Astronomics casts asteroid mining as a race against each rock’s limited time within your claim. You intercept passing asteroids with a Freighter, pilot a Shuttle to their surfaces, and make the most of resources and conditions that differ from expedition to expedition. The larger goal is to earn enough through work across the belt to secure a Residency Permit on Earth, a home the premise frames as distant.
Each asteroid becomes an operational puzzle: gather materials yourself, establish mining infrastructure, and deploy Workerbots to move resources. A Command bot helps organize increasingly complex logistics as you automate extraction and transport. You must also decide what equipment to bring and what can be recovered before the asteroid moves out of range, while pirates threaten your operation. Back aboard the Freighter, materials can be manufactured into goods for sale at Cube Corp.
That loop combines hands-on exploration with planning and automation, while contracts broaden the work to include data collection, search and rescue, and equipment manufacturing. Astronomics is listed as single-player, so its player-count context is an individual’s progress through these temporary, self-managed expeditions rather than a shared multiplayer operation. The changing asteroids and growing logistics challenge give that solo format its distinctive shape.
