Astroloot sends players into a mysterious sci-fi sector where lost treasures and hostile foes make each advance a risk-and-reward expedition. Its unusual framing is a cozy, stress-free walking simulator, but the underlying play draws on action-RPG progression: defeat enemies, gain levels and gather equipment as you push farther into the Astroloot Sector.
Build-making is central to the design. Players choose among the Leviathan, Hyperion or Chronos ship archetypes, then shape their character with a broad selection of items whose modifier slots can substantially change how those items work. A skill tree with more than a thousand nodes adds another layer of choices. Crafting uses nine kinds of dice, and the game shows the final roll’s outcome before the player commits, favoring deliberate gear-making over uncertain results.
Astroloot is designed first as a single-player, solo-self-found experience, with no servers or online restrictions; players can also team up through LAN or Steam online co-op, which supports up to four people.
