Astral Ascent casts four distinct heroes as prisoners trying to escape the Garden, an astral prison in a modern fantasy world. Their route crosses four hand-crafted worlds guarded by the Zodiacs, powerful bosses with individual combat styles and stories. The unfolding narrative is woven into repeated runs, revealing more about the heroes and the place that holds them as the journey continues.
Combat and character choice give each attempt room for a different approach. Ayla fights with speed and blades, Kiran brings raw strength, Calie attacks with magical gemstones, and Octave summons ethereal weapons. Players unlock spells for their characters and shape builds to meet each run’s challenges; the game describes progression as a way to grow stronger over time. Dash through colorful landscapes, react to enemy attacks, and take on bosses whose distinct styles put those choices to the test.
Astral Ascent supports single-player play as well as two-player co-op, locally or online through Steam Remote Play Together. Its combination of platforming, roguelite replay, character-specific combat, and gradual story discovery is the defining context for those figures.
