Humanity’s technological rise has enabled it to command armies across worlds, but that expansion draws a catastrophic challenge: the Substrate seeks to erase humankind. Players take the role of an emerging member of the Post-Human Coalition, confronting that enemy and renegade humans pursuing worlds of their own. The choice of faction is central to the conflict, with the Coalition and Substrate fighting for control of the galaxy.
This is a large-scale real-time strategy game built around decisions that connect battlefield movement to long-term planning. Players choose technologies to research, direct armies, manage the economy and decide which units to construct. Its defining scale is a war across worlds involving thousands of units, supported by maps described as unusually large and detailed and by the Nitrous native 64-bit RTS engine. The emphasis is not simply on issuing orders, but on balancing resources, development and deployment across a broad conflict.
The format accommodates both solitary and shared play: campaign and skirmish modes let players face a powerful non-cheating AI, while online multiplayer offers ranked and unranked matches with friends.
